The plain version: we collect very little, we don't sell anything about you, and here's exactly what happens.

This policy explains what information Bergamot & Birch(“we,” “us”) collects when you visit bergamotandbirch.com, and what we do with it. We keep data collection to a minimum: we don’t run user accounts, we don’t sell your data, and we only collect what’s needed to run the site and reply to you.

Information you give us

If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you submit, solely to read and respond to your enquiry. Those messages are delivered to our inbox by email; we don’t add you to any marketing list, and we don’t share them.

Information collected automatically (analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and which links get clicked. To do this, Google sets cookies and processes data such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed. This is aggregated, statistical usage data; we use it to improve the site, not to identify you personally. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Affiliate links and cookies

Many product links on this site are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one, the destination retailer — primarily Amazon — may set a cookie that credits us with a commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. That cookie and any data collected after you leave our site are controlled by the retailer under its own privacy policy, not ours.

Third parties we use

  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics.
  • Amazon — affiliate program and product data/links.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider, which processes standard server request logs.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. Blocking cookies won’t stop you reading the site — it just limits analytics and may affect affiliate crediting.

Data retention and your rights

We keep contact-form emails only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email us at info@bergamotandbirch.comand we’ll respond.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
